Release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati shifted to next year
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati has been under the scanner since its making. There have been many accusations revolving around the film. It has been blamed for depicting incorrect factual history.

The period drama which is directed by Bhansali had to see distressing fate since the beginning of shooting, with a lot of agitations and unrest on the sets.

The film's shooting had to be halted in Jaipur when religious sects from different groups ravaged the sets. Bhansali too had to face the wrath. But this did not deter Bhansali, as the shooting continued at other locations.

Sources claim that in the meanwhile, Deepika became busy with her international projects and hence the shooting got delayed. Earlier, it had been confirmed that the film would release on November 17. The team believed that they would wrap the shooting by mid October but it seems to be impossible now.

Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor would be seen playing the main characters.

Reports say that due to the delay, Bhansali has moved the release date to next year. He is believed to have shifted the date to February 9, 2018. Now that seems to be on a long journey. It has also been said that with this date there would be a clash with Anushka Sharma's film Pari.

Ranveer Singh is also a part of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. He would be seen in a negative character.

DNA quoted from a source from the film unit as saying, "SLB had an October 20 deadline, which is impossible to meet now. The workers' strike took away a few important days. Meanwhile, two of the principal actors — Deepika and Shahid — also had free dates, so they took off on vacations. A lot of the shoot is still left. The major chunk may have been shot, but some big action sequences are still left. Ranveer's portions as the young Alauddin Khilji, too, remain to be shot."

The delay of the film would not have a very positive repercussion as the film had created a lot of sound and fury since a year but with time it may lose the general interest.  Audience may miss the complete track as a film is more about publicity and stint. The Jaipur controversy had evoked a sense of intrusiveness. But nevertheless, Bhansali's films do have that extra speck to allure audience irrespective of any controversy or stint.
