Meditation in classroom is like icing on the cake
Meditation is ancient practice of discourse for improving physical, mental and emotional state by acting as awareness energiser which brings peace, tolerance and solidarity.

This ancient practice is now well accepted in society and education world where concentration, focus and performance are main yardsticks of student development.

The job of  teaching profession is really exhausting and requires lots of patience  as teacher has to face unending queries from his or her students and at the same time manage them with appropriate solution. The student who seeks for solution of problem is always faced with focus and concentration issues especially during boring or non-interactive classroom session.

Such scenario is not new to school and every second school is trying to overcome this kind of problem which may directly affect the overall performance of students and school as a whole. The solution to such issues is inclusion of meditation session in regular classroom sessions.

It is observed that meditation or breathing kriya helps children understand and learn the subjects and provide increased energy levels for teachers to remain effective in class.

Powerful meditation sessions at regular intervals in classrooms with students and teachers together may play bigger role in educational spectrum.

For teachers two things are important, first is to control the stress and second to have full energy, and meditation helps the teachers remain balanced and effective in their profession.

Many researchers in this field reported that regular meditation habits have deep impact on a person's thoughts, action and energy. Both the teacher and students benefit from it.

It is found that a teacher after meditating for few weeks feels more energised and tolerant in his or her emotions and mind, is in better position to handle the affairs of the students.

The teachers feel like less worried, well organised, refreshed, confident and controlling their emotions to their comfort and ease. Only a teacher with positive outlook can bring positive changes in his or her students and this is what meditation does to create positive mind and action. It helps teachers in classrooms where they need to respond effectively and create better learning environment for their students.

Even the positive impact of meditation in students is not hidden and well established in education world. The performance of students is considerably improved by inclusion of meditation classes or meditation in classroom. It heightens the positivity, attention and behaviour and significantly calms down the aggression in students.

It is seen that regular practice of meditation is of great help for students to overcome exam or test phobia or anxiety. It has been successfully used by special educators in schools to improve the performance of differently able child.

In this time of globalisation of education and free flow of information it is not hidden or undiscovered anymore and more and more schools are coming up with new ideas and techniques to include mediation in their curriculum for the benefit of both teachers and students.
