Indian Railways to sign deal with Germany to run high-speed trains
Aiming to reduce travel time significantly, the Indian Railways is planning to collaborate with Germany for running high-speed trains in the country.

Alexander Dobrindt, German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure accompanied by a high-ranking delegation will meet Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on October 14 to discuss the same.

During the meeting, the Railway Minister will ink a pact with Germany for running high-speed trains in the country. As per a senior Railway Ministry official, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the Indian Railways and DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH.

The pact will deepen the collaboration and strengthen ties between the two countries for bilateral cooperation in the rail sector.

The German minister will hold talks with the Railway Minister in Rail Bhavan, and after the meeting, the MoU will be signed.

The Indian Railways wants to introduce ultra high-speed trains in the country in which top global companies have shown interest.

Recently, while addressing the India Economic Summit Suresh Prabhu had said that some major global players have shown keen interest in developing ultra high-speed trains in the country.
