Google celebrates Teacher's Day with colourful animated doodle
Today, India is celebrating Teacher's Day to appreciate the contribution of teachers in development of students and nation.

The day is being celebrated in many ways. In schools, students don the role of teachers and manage classes and teachers hold lectures or discussions on various issues of education. Also, celebrations and functions are held to honour teachers' noteworthy contributions to the profession and society.

In our country, Teacher's Day is celebrated on the birthday of late president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – an outstanding philosopher and teacher – on September 5 since 1962.

The internet search engine giant Google has joined the celebrations with an animated doodle on its home page. The colourful logo shows the second 'g' as teacher holding a pointer and explaining lesson on the board. The mouth and the pointer have been animated in the doodle. The rest of the letters of the logo have been depicted as students. The board, in the background, shows the lessons of physics, math, chemistry, life sciences and music, which alternate successively.
