Adelaide Ass Kicker – The world's strongest coffee and it's almost a health hazard
Vicious Coffee, a cafe located in the Australian city of Adelaide has become famous for serving apparently the strongest coffee in the world. Rightly named as the Adelaide Ass Kicker, this coffee contains caffeine equivalent to 80 standard brews.

According to a story published on Mashable, this unique beverage was invented when a nurse working in the emergency department needed to stay awake. Legend has it that she consumed a cup of this coffee over a period of two days which was enough to keep her awake for three straight days.

Since then, the owner of Vicious Coffee has toned it down a bit to make it available for counter sale to the general public. Even then, this coffee comes with a health warning.

Trust me, this coffee is not for those with a heart condition or blood pressure related issues. It can be only consumed over a long period of time and not in shots, or else it could make your heart pop-out. Research says that 18 grams of caffeine consumed over a period of a few hours is enough to kill a man and one cup of the Adelaide Ass Kicker contains 5 grams of caffeine. Seriously, this stuff could even put cocaine to shame.

Steve Benington, owner of Vicious Coffee, while telling Mashable the purpose behind creating the Adelaide Ass Kicker said, "It aims to lift you up and keep you there instead of peaking through the roof and dumping you hard later."

The drink which has been designed to be consumed over a long period of time tastes more like toffee than coffee. Benington, while warning those who are chasing an instant hit, said,"Combining the minimum drinking time and the slow release of cold drip-imparted caffeine is how we achieved the sustained uptime."

On being asked about the people's response on his drink, Benington says, "some people love it and some are broken by it, but it's all in the name of fun."
